Melilla is Spanish territory on the North African coast. There is no road route from mainland Spain — you arrive by air or by sea, and both need booking earlier than you would expect for this particular week.
Capacity into Melilla is limited on an ordinary day. For 2 August 2027 the flights and sailings will fill well before the accommodation does. If you take one piece of advice from this page: secure your arrival first, and let us do it as part of your plan.
By air
The fastest route, and the one most guests take.
Melilla Airport (MLN) sits about 3 km from the centre — a short transfer rather than a journey. It is served by direct flights from mainland Spanish cities including Málaga, Madrid, Almería, Granada, Seville and Barcelona. Málaga is roughly 35–45 minutes in the air; Madrid is around two hours.
Aircraft serving Melilla are regional types and capacity per flight is modest, which is precisely why these seats will go early for eclipse week. Schedules for August 2027 are not published yet; we monitor them and book as soon as they open.
By sea
Slower, and a considerably better arrival.
Ferries sail to Melilla from three Andalusian ports: Málaga, Almería and Motril. Crossings run from roughly four to eight hours depending on the port and the vessel. Cabins are worth taking on the longer or overnight sailings, and a vehicle can be brought across if your plans need one.
Arriving by sea puts you alongside Melilla la Vieja as you come in, which is the best possible introduction to the city. Sailings for the eclipse period should be treated as scarce.
Private and VIP arrival
Where schedules do not fit the plan.
We coordinate flight itineraries across your group so that a party arriving from several countries lands within a workable window, with reception and transfers waiting. Private aviation and private maritime transfer enquiries are handled case by case.
Private aviation, helicopter movements and yacht arrival all depend on slots, handling, berthing and permissions that must be checked for your specific dates. We will confirm what is genuinely available in writing, and we will tell you when something is not.
On arrival
Reception
Met at the aircraft door or the vehicle deck, depending on how you arrive, and taken through to your transfer.
Transfers
Short — the city is small. Airport to centre is a matter of minutes; the port is closer still.
Documents
Melilla is Spain. Travellers should confirm current entry requirements for Spain for their own nationality before travelling; we will flag anything specific to your group when we know its make-up.
Onward
Extensions along the Andalusian coast or into Morocco can be built onto either end of your stay.
Airline routes, ferry operators and sailing schedules change. The information on this page describes services operating at the time of writing and is not a guarantee of availability for August 2027. We verify live schedules at the time of booking.

Accommodation
Where you stay matters
Melilla is a small city. The rooms that suit this kind of trip are finite, and the week of 2 August 2027 will not be an ordinary week. We hold and allocate rather than search on the day.
We select on location relative to your viewing position, on service, on what a group actually needs, and on whether a property can absorb a corporate block without the experience degrading. We will tell you honestly what is and is not available at the time you enquire.
Premium stay
Well-located rooms with the service level a considered trip requires.
Executive stay
Top-category rooms and suites, with privacy and space to work if needed.
Private group
Adjacent rooms, shared living space, or whole-property use for larger parties.
Corporate allocation
Room blocks with managed rooming lists, billing and arrival scheduling.
We do not publish hotel names or logos until an agreement is signed and we are authorised to do so. Specific properties are proposed in writing at the proposal stage.
Let us arrange your journey
Tell us where your group is travelling from and we will build the approach as part of the proposal.

Six short sections. Nothing here commits you to anything, and we will not add you to a mailing list.
The more you tell us, the more specific the proposal. Every enquiry is answered by a person, in writing, usually within one business day.
A member of the team will reply personally, in writing, usually within one business day. If your dates are tight or your group is large, say so in a reply and we will move faster.
